Welcome to The Sauna Journal — and thank you for being here early.
We started Emberhouse Saunas because we believe a sauna shouldn't be a luxury reserved for spas and gyms. It should be a few steps from where you live: a warm, quiet room you can disappear into for twenty minutes and come back from a little more like yourself. That's the whole idea. This blog is where we'll talk about how to make it real.
What this blog is for
Buying a sauna comes with a surprising number of questions — and most of the answers online are either marketing or jargon. We want this to be the other thing: clear, honest, practical writing about choosing a sauna, setting it up, and actually using it well. Some of it will help you decide what to buy. A lot of it will simply help you get more out of the heat once it's yours.
What you can expect
We'll cover the practical questions — how the sauna types differ, how to size one to your space, what the research says about the benefits — and the softer ones too: how to build a routine that lasts, how to make the space something you genuinely look forward to. New posts will land regularly, and we'll keep them short enough to actually read.
Where to start
If you're just beginning to explore, our collections are organized the way people actually shop: by heat type, by size, and by where the sauna will live. An infrared cabin is the gentlest entry point for most people; a barrel sauna is the move if you have a backyard and a vision for it.
Stay with us
This is the first entry, so the archive is short — for now. Check back as it grows, and if there's a question you wish someone would just answer plainly, that's exactly the kind of thing we want to write about next.
Warmly,
The Emberhouse Team
